What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders or dysfunction of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, and the effects of these changes on the physical, mental and emotional health and performance of an individual.

Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) – often referred to as chiropractors or chiropractic physicians – ARE NOT MEDICAL DOCTORS - and as such do not subscribe medication or perform surgery. They practice a hands-on, drug-free approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment.

Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling.
